Thomas Haddy - Green and Black Stone Vessel

This beautiful stone vessel was hand-turned by Thomas Haddy of Nevada City, California. 

Thomas cuts large boulders (often with a chainsaw!) into smaller chunks, and puts those pieces on a lathe. He then slowly and painstakingly turns each piece until it's just right. No single vessel is alike, and each one is a true work of art. He finishes the process by sanding and polishing each piece until they almost glow.

This piece was made with black and white alabaster and greenstone.
