This beautiful stoneware vessel was made by ceramicist and sculptor Shelly Fredenberg of Eugene, Ore. Shelly's work is a tribute to the natural world, its processes and possibilities, as well as its impossibilities.
This piece was hand-built and displays a satin glaze exterior and a layered oxide and glaze interior. It was created from a single ball of clay with nothing added or removed. Shelly opened the center of the ball of clay and coaxed the ridges thinner and thinner, working gracefully against gravity.
Dimensions: W 12" x H 8" (Measurements are approximate and taken at the widest points).
