Thomas Haddy - Black, Red, and Green Stone Vessel

This beautiful stone vessel was hand-turned by Thomas Haddy of Nevada City, California. 

Thomas cuts large boulders (often with a chainsaw!) into smaller chunks, and puts those pieces on a lathe. He then slowly and painstakingly turns each piece until it's just right. No single vessel is alike, and each one is a true work of art. He finishes the process by sanding and polishing each piece until they almost glow.

This piece was made with pink alabaster, black and white alabaster, and greenstone.
