Takeshi Yonezawa - Hand-tooled Leather Bag

This stunning hand-sewn, hand-tooled doctor's bag (or "briefcase," if you prefer) was created by master leather artist Takeshi Yonezawa in a luxurious vegetable-tanned leather. He even created the metal frame around which he made the bag.

The signature magnolia-flower tooling motif (here, with hummingbird embellishment) is a favorite of Takeshi's, and he creates it by using a metal tool to painstakingly depress the leather in the desired pattern (i.e., it is not carving because no materials is removed from the leather) all "free hand," without the aid of stamps. On this bag you will note the absurd level of detail, including tooling on all facets of the bag.

This bag is truly one-of-a-kind and is destined to be an heirloom, treasured for generations.
