Shelly Fredenberg - Tide Vessel 1

This beautiful stoneware bowl was made by ceramicist and sculptor Shelly Fredenberg of Eugene, Ore. Shelly's work is a tribute to the natural world, its processes and possibilities, as well as its impossibilities.  

This unique vessel was hand-thrown and has a soft satin glaze exterior and oxide and gloss glaze interior. The oxides create the blue/green coloring found on the interior of the vessel and within the tiny cups. Sally hand-sculpts the textural cups and spikes and attaches them in a way that makes it appear they are growing directly from the vessel itself.
