Mike Sluder - "High Style"

This unique bronze sculptural vessel was created by Mike Sluder. He first made the silhouette in bronze, and then set to work with his signature patina work. 

The rich colors he achieves are a result of careful and intentional chemical reactions in the metallic alloy of the bronze itself, such that the finished result is actually the new color of the metal, not a finish applied to the outside. The negative spaces in the vessel allow for fantastic shadows that move and change throughout the day, depending on the light.
